About this site

If you have something to teach, I would love to learn.
If you have something I have not read, I will read it.
If you have something I have not seen, I will watch it.

Just a regular guy who has been working as an Assistant Director on TV Commercials for almost 10 years, then began a new path, that of being a student at Simon Fraser University. I'm in my final year of a new undergrad, majoring in Media Arts and Design, which is part of the School Of Interactive Arts & Technology (SIAT).

Through my new education and vast experience on many diverse projects I have had the opportunity to hone my skills as a multidisciplinary designer working in product design, public space, interaction design, graphic design, concept design and branding.

This blog is mainly just to chronicle my projects, thoughts and random interests.

JAN GEHL ON THE HUMAN SCALE OF CITIES

Inspiring talk by Danish architect, author and urban consultant Jan Gehl, one of the very few out there that study human behaviour in relation to the urban environment on the small scale. Every time, his words impress me.

He sees the city as being built at a city scale, site scale, and people scale, but feels that most architects and urban planners completely ignore the people scale. They create cities from an aerial view and ignore the life between buildings that truly makes the space work. In his practice he seeks to re-orient the city away from cars and towards the pedestrian and cyclist in order to make healthy and happy cities.
